We were so excited to see our friends again this week. I hope everyone had a relaxing and safe holiday. While many of us stayed home for the winter break, when kids returned to class they imagined they were on a peaceful vacation. Using their 5 senses, students were able to use descriptive writing to transport us to the mountains, the desert, the forest, or other peaceful locale. In math, second grade is learning about time in five | minute intervals and quarter hour. First grade is reviewing greater than/less than, place value, rounding on a number line, reading and creating a bar graph, and giving directions on a map. Kindergarten is learning about plane and solid shapes. In social studies the class is reviewing the plant and animal life of regions such as the mountains, desert, prairie, and forests. In science the class is learning about renewable and non- | renewable resources. Parents Corner: Some students have become very tech savvy over the last several months. It's a good idea to check in with your child about what content they share online. Every household has different levels of comfort for sharing photos, websites, etc. We kindly request that students not share websites via zoom, unless given permission by a teacher. Thank you. |
