Yesterday our class was fortunate enough to have a visit from Stacey, a teacher, at School for the Blind. Our class was introduced to the idea of students who are blind and what it means to have a disability. We learned that all people are different and that it is important to ask questions rather than make assumptions. Stacey showed us how to read braille | and how to write our names in braille. We learned how to offer assistance to a person who is blind. Stacey was able to spark some thought processes for us. We are able to be mindful of others with differences such as vision impairment. Additionally, this is a good reminder for us to be grateful for what we do have, including our vision. We hope that you are able to | take the time today to vote. Our class learns so much from the conversations you are having and the examples you are setting. I was amazed to see so many important issues come up in our class discussion about what the president should do (see above). If I could send our class to Washington D.C., I would! If I were going to start a business, I would flavor pumpkin seeds and sell the different flavors. --Thad
