Thank you Riva, Asha, and Akash for helping us celebrate Diwali! We learned about this new year celebration and how calendars differ in different locations around the globe. We talked about traditions such as giving gifts and celebrating with sweets and special foods. We concluded our celebration with a craft. Kids were guided to make their own rongolis, pictured above. | Thank you Riva, Asha, and Akash for sharing this special holiday celebration with us. If your family has cultural celebrations that you would like to share with our class, we would love to learn with you. Please email me to let me know if you are interested. I hope that your child enjoyed our virtual field trip to the Academy of Sciences last week. | Students were able to learn about penguin bodies, diet, and habitat. You might ask your child why penguins waddle or what is special about a penguin's tongue. Many of the students in our class are becoming more tech savvy every day. If you want to set parameters for your child's discovery, Common Sense Media has ideas. |
