Last week we were lucky to have a visit from Firefighter Sal. She shared with us some ideas about fire safety. These include testing smoke alarms, updating fire extinguishers and keeping doors closed at night to prevent the spread of fire. Firefighter Sal advised us on what to do if there were a fire in our building. | This includes discussing the possible exits from your home before a fire occurs. If a fire happens in the home, kids should crawl below smoke, using a hand along the wall to feel for an exit, and using the back of your hand to feel if there is heat on the door knob. Firefighter Sal recommended picking a safe | place for your family to meet, once outside the home. In this long fire season, we hope your family will use these tips to discuss fire safety together. Coming up: virtual visit with the Academy of Sciences on Friday at 11am. Look for the link on the schedule for our live stream with Penguins from the Academy of Sciences. |
