The Halloween countdown begins! Kids are encouraged to dress in costume all day or even just at 2pm on Friday, October 30th, when we will observe Halloween. In math, kindergarten is practicing writing numbers up to 20 and counting by ten's. First grade is identifying fractions, telling time to the hour, half hour, and learning about elapsed time. Second grade is adding money and practicing addition with multiple double-digit addends. | In language arts, the class wrote and read aloud what they would do if they were student body president of Kittredge. In science, the class is learning about how water travels through the stem of the plant and what different parts of the plant do. In social studies, the class completed a comic strip in remembrance of indigenous people's day. Tying in our work with Kimochis, (learning to say "sorry" and ask for a re-do) we imagined how history may have looked if Columbus had asked | for a re-do. Last week, in her star student presentation, Cassie showed us how she is learning to code and create commands for her robotic dog. We love learning new things! Does your child want to share a new skill with us? It's never too early to start thinking about star student. Coming up: 10.21.20: Treasure Circle 11.13.20: Virtual Field Trip to the Academy of Sciences (11am) |
If I were president of Kittredge, I would duplicate Snuggles and we would have a dog pile. --Zachy
